PREVENTION AND ORAL HYGIENE

Research has established that certain oral conditions such as caries and gum disease can be prevented with good oral hygiene and dental care. Along with home care, professional scaling and cleaning is an important part of the treatment and helps prevent gum disease (gingivitis and periodontitis). We provide clear and detailed oral hygiene instruction, showing patients how to brush, floss and use interdental brushes.

Hormonal changes in the body during pregnancy make women more susceptible to gum inflammation especially during the second and third trimester. It is important that women have a check up and clean during the pregnancy. Young mothers also benefit from regular dental check ups.
